So here’s how it all started.
Agustin had been working as a Professional DJ, Nightclub Manager and Corporate Entertainment & Audiovisual Manager between Mexico City, Playa del Carmen & Huatulco. In 2009, with 20 years of experience behind him, he moved back permanently to his beloved Playa del Carmen, ready for a new challenge. With a name in the industry, he immediately started receiving requests from hotels, bars & restaurants for audiovisual consulting service as well as equipment rental & DJ service for special events.
Agustin poured himself into a new project, founding Plug In Audiovisual. The mission was to offer his clients cutting edge audiovisual design & equipment plus exceptional technical skill & guidance together with the absurdly high level of personalized customer service that he knew would make him stand out.
Numerous chats and brainstorming sessions over the ol’ turntables with long-time friend, colleague and fellow-DJ Chuy Mota, soon followed and as things got busier and busier, he jumped onboard to head the music department. Customer service specialist and Chief Concierge, Katherine, joined the boys soon after to oversee the client-relations & event-management.
Over the next year, hard work+ lots of love led to growing demand from couples planning their destination weddings in the Mayan Riviera, and much to our delight, we soon found ourselves specializing in weddings of all styles and cultures.
The next logical step was to woo a very special gal and wonderful friend, professional Boutique Wedding Planner and Riviera Maya Wedding Destination Specialist, Arlenis Ruiz. She joined our adventure in 2014, adding Wedding & Event Planning to our services, creating Plug In Events.
As individuals we have each been rocking our own area of expertise for years, and now as a team we have really found our groove. Each member brings different experience, knowledge, skills & ideas to the table, but we all share the same excitement and zeal for what we do.

We are proud of how we have evolved so far and want to continue growing & challenging ourselves, so we take every opportunity we can to learn about what’s new in the industry and to showcase our skills.
Our team participates in yearly national DJ competitions, audiovisual workshops, wedding industry webinars & training sessions, and wedding certifications to stay up to date with the latest technology, technique and trends. We are certified Riviera Maya Destination Wedding Specialists and members of the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada.
Not only are we obsessed with constantly fine-tuning our professional skills, but we are also continually updating our collection of equipment to stay on the cutting edge of audiovisual production, making sure that we are providing our clients with the latest and greatest options available (plus we really like having new toys!).
The reason why we have focused on specializing in weddings is simple. We adore being a part of one of the happiest moments of your lives. It gives us all the feels and is extremely rewarding. We can honestly say we are excited to go to work every day. Who could ask for more?
It has been an amazing 7 years so far, and our plan for the next 6 years is to continue exploring new ideas, techniques and designs to bring you a unique destination wedding experience, always with the meticulous attention to detail and truly personalized service that we love.
